MINDFULNESS | AROMATHERAPY | PSYCHOLOGY
A practical approach to self-awareness, self-care, and everyday well-being.
The MAP™ brings together the three threads of my work: mindfulness, aromatherapy, and psychology.
Each one helps on its own. Used together, they reach the mind, the body, and everything underneath, which is why the tools hold and the change lasts. This is the approach behind every workshop and session I run.
Developing awareness and learning to respond with intention.
Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment with openness and without judgment.
It helps us become more aware of our thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and habitual reactions. With practice, we can begin to recognize our patterns and make more intentional choices about how we respond.
In MAP™, mindfulness provides the foundation for self-awareness. Practices may include mindful breathing, attention exercises, body awareness, reflection, and everyday mindfulness activities.
Exploring the practical and informed use of essential oils.
Aromatherapy uses aromatic plant extracts, particularly essential oils, as part of approaches to self-care and well-being.
Our sense of smell is closely connected to the brain systems involved in emotion and memory. Aroma can also become a familiar sensory cue that supports attention and personal routines.
In MAP™, aromatherapy introduces a sensory dimension to mindfulness and self-care. The emphasis is on understanding essential oils, choosing appropriate applications, and using them safely and intentionally.
Understanding behaviour, emotions, development, and personal change.
Psychology helps us understand how people think, feel, learn, relate to others, and respond to their environments.
My graduate studies in developmental psychology have deepened my interest in how experiences, relationships, life stages, and individual differences influence well-being.
In MAP™, psychological concepts help inform the design of activities, discussions, and reflective exercises. These may draw on developmental psychology, stress and coping, emotional regulation, cognitive processes, and self-compassion.
Activities and content are adapted to the audience, learning objectives, and context. Not every MAP™ engagement includes essential oils or all three components in equal measure.
My work in MAP™ developed gradually.
After nearly two decades in corporate marketing and communications, I began studying aromatherapy, followed by mindfulness and meditation. My interest in understanding human experiences more deeply eventually led me to graduate studies in developmental psychology.
Each discipline offered perspectives I found useful, but I also saw opportunities to bring them together in a thoughtful and practical way.
MAP™ grew from that continuing process of learning, professional training, and working with people in different settings.
Today, it informs my wellness programs, workshops, and educational work, including the work I do through Tawhay Wellness.
There is no single path to well-being. People bring different experiences, needs, beliefs, and circumstances into every learning environment. A practice that works well for one person may not be appropriate or useful for another.
MAP™ recognizes these differences. It encourages exploration, informed choices, and the development of practices that make sense within each person’s life.
The intention is to make wellness education understandable, accessible, and applicable beyond the workshop or coaching session.
MAP™ informs my speaking engagements, workshops, educational programs, and selected coaching services.
For organizations, schools, professional groups, or individuals interested in exploring a MAP™-informed program, I welcome the opportunity to discuss your needs and objectives.

Lost but Found is the story I lived before it became the work I do. It is about losing pregnancies because of reproductive-immuno disorder and slowly finding my way back through grief that did not ask permission.
I wrote it for the women walking the same path, often while holding everything else together and grieving in private.
If any of this is part of your story, I hope it helps you feel less alone in it.
